What exactly is aromatherapy? It is a holistic healing treatment that uses plant extracts to promote health and well-being. These plant extracts are essential oils, which can medically improve the health of the body, mind, and spirit. Unwanted physical and mental symptoms such as feeling nauseous, fatigued, having a headache, stress, and anxiety can be alleviated by essential oil therapy. When cleaning with conventional cleaners, these symptoms can arise. This is especially difficult for those that clean to alleviate their mental health yet get a headache from the artificial fragrances in some cleaners. Liquid Earth allows you to clean your home and clear your mind, ultimately leaving you feeling good.
How Does Aromatherapy Work?
Inhalation, dispersion, and secretion of feel-good chemicals! Let’s use our Lavender Harmony multi-surface cleaner as an example. This cleaner includes an aromatherapeutic blend of Lavender, Oregano, Orange, and Western Red Cedarwood. When you spray the cleaner on any surface, the essential oils will leave a wonderful scent which will be inhaled as you clean. With top notes of Lavender, Sweet Orange, a middle note of Oregano, and a base note of Cedarwood essential oils, this complex scent will leave you feeling calm. These essential oil particles will disperse from the nose to your brain through the stimulation of the olfactory bulb (in simple terms, smell receptors). Within the brain, there is the limbic system which houses emotions, long-term memory, as well as behavior. The particles will signal this system to give an emotional response towards the scents delivered. The Lavender Harmony scent profile delivers a calming emotion, whereas a cleaner like Fresh-Squeezed Wilderness will deliver an uplifting emotion. Some premium essential oils that Liquid Earth is currently using are: Lemongrass, Clary Sage, Western Red Cedarwood, Lemon, Lime, Peppermint, Rosemary, Oregano, Lavender, and Sweet Orange.
